Bikita Minerals FC fined US$5k

BIKITA-Newly promoted Premier Soccer League side Bikita Minerals FC have been fined US$5 000 by the ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League for bringing the name of the league into disrepute after their supporters beat a match officials.

ERSL board went through the commissioner’s match report where Bikita Minerals FC played against Grayham FC and the former’s supporters invaded the pitch after the one all draw game and kicked an assistant.

The game was played at Chiremba Grounds on November 18 where the match officials ran for dear life after the visitors’ supporters invaded the pitch, baying for the referees’ blood.

The board, when it sat on November 25 last week found Bikita guilty of breaching Rule 14.1.2 of the ERSL rules and regulations where their supporters interrupted official proceedings of the match and fined them US$5 000 with US$3 000 suspended for being first time offenders.

Meanwhile, Grayham FC were fined US$2 000 for use of unregistered player with US$1000 suspended if the penalty is paid before December 31 this year.
