Big guns roar, as Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region kicks off

MIDLANDS – The kick off of the lucrative Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Division 1 Soccer League fixtures last week saw the region’s heavyweights flexing their muscles and upsetting the opponents in their opening matches
Tongogara FC, Chapungu United , and Blanket Mine FC emerged victors during the opening encounters.
Blanket Mine FC registered the biggest win with a 5-0 win over newboys Gokwe North to make their intention clear as the season begins, while Chapungu Fc dismantled Beitbridge Fc 3-0 and Tongogara had a narrow win beating Black Eagles 2-1.
The five-goal demolition by Blanket Mine was a testament to the experienced side’s sheer dominance and ruthlessness on the field of play , leaving their opponents buried beneath an avalanche of goals.
It’s a huge statement for them as they seek promotion.
In aonther encounters newly promoted West Nicholson team defeated season campaigners MSU FC 2-0 with the match between Shabanie Mine Fc and Amazon postponed.
The match between Dinson Mvuma and Wangu Mazodze ended in a goalless stalemate while the match between Sheasham and Dulibadzimu also ended nil all.
Bishopstone drew 2-2 with Fc Platinum under 19 meanwhile Kwekwe United drew 1-1 with ZRP Gwanda.
A record of 19 goals were scored on Matchday 1 in the league from 8 fixtures .
