GWERU-In a dramatic turn of events, a 32-year-old woman from Gweru ended up behind bars after she allegedly struck a fellow patron over beer.
Melody Mandega (32) was arrested last week after she attacked Josiah Chigumba (53) at Diamond Plate Night Club.
She appeared before the Gweru Provincial Magistrate Beaulity Dube who remanded her in custody to March 6 2025.
According to court records, it is alleged that Mandega wanted to get more beer despite the Club having closed.
She became aggressive when her demands were denied .The incident was escalated when she snatched a beer bottle from Chigumba before smashing it against his head.
Chigumba was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he was treated and discharged while Mandega was arrested on the next day.
