GWERU-Four daring armed robbers pounced on Mkoba 6 Total Filling Station and made off with US$6 000 cash on Monday morning.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Midweek Watch that the suspects approached Tinokudzaishe Mastock (22) who was on night duty, holding a plastic container looking for fuel.
Mastock then told the suspects that the fuel station had closed.
“suddenly the suspect produced an unknown pistol and ordered the guard to lie down on his stomach.
“He tied his hands and legs with shoe laces, while the guard was down three more suspects arrived,” said Insp Mahoko.
They then forcibly opened “the manager’s door, blasted the safe and took away US$6000-00” before driving away in a silver Honda-Fit.
Insp Mahoko has urged the businesses to bank their money and avoid keeping large sums of money at their premises or home.
He also appealed to members of the public who might have the information about the suspects to approach the nearest police station.
