All set for Masvingo ZPCS OC sports gala

MASVINGOZimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Masvingo province will host the annual Officer Commanding (OC) sports gala at Mutimurefu Prison on July 28 and 29, The Midweek Watch can reveal.

The sports gala is running under the theme ‘Enhancing Corrections Through Sport’.

The sport gala will witness all three main stations and 5 satellites stations in Masvingo province participating which include officers from Chiredzi, Gutu, Mwenezi, Bikita, Chivi, Masvingo, Zaka and Mutimurefu.

The teams which will win at the Officer Commanding sports gala will proceed to compete at the national Commissioner General Sports Gala.

The sport gala is for the officers, inmates in Masvingo Province and other invited guests participating in different sporting disciplines like netball, soccer, volleyball, darts, chess, athletics, pool and tug of war.

Masvingo Principal Correctional officer Stanslous Sanike told The Midweek Watch that the aim of the sports gala is to enhance corrections through sport as well as promoting wellness of both inmates and officers.

For all those that want to market their brands and companies and for those who want to contribute towards the gala can contact the designated officers on the attached flier.

Last year the games were held in Chiredzi.
