Acid test for top 3 Division 2A teams
SPORTS REPORTER- The top three teams in the ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A League are set to face their toughest matches this week as the league enters match day 5.
Log leaders, Jame West FC who are cruising and yet to drop any points from their opening four encounters are away to Rise of Hope Fc who are sixth on the log standings
Rise Hope FC have the strongest defence in the league having conceded only a single goal so far and scored five in the past four matches.
Their first win was at home against Mvuma Stars whom they dismantled 4-0.
Yellow Machine Boys who themselves are enjoying a purple patch in their debut season being the high scoring team with 11 goals but are leaking goals as they have conceded three in four matches.
Mbesa FC who still have their 100 % record intact face a tricky 13 Stars side away from home.
Mbesa Fc who are perennial runners in the league are just behind Jame West on goal difference but meeting a resilient stars team which is seeking to consolidate their position in the top of the log will be an uphill task for the Mberengwa based club.
Meanwhile their counterpart Great Dyke FC are away to Shurugwi Fc a team that gave them a torrid time last season and hope to bounce back as they hope to maintain their performance in the league.
Great Dyke Fc Secretary General Rockford Pikanegore said the team is ready and expect nothing short of a win.
“We had a slow start but all is well now we are for the game and three points is what we are going for”, he said.
