The Good, the bad and the ugly
“The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion….but rather by its superiority in applying organised violence”, wrote Samuel Huntington.
” Westerners often forget this fact ; non- Westerners never do.” (Daniel Hannan- The Daily Telegraph 10 December 2023).
Should we say the African continent is too blind or illiterate to shape its destiny?
Or should we continue blaming our former colonizers for the continent ‘s misfortunes and fail to build what constitutes Africanism.
In actual fact what does the continent represent in this modern world? A hunting ground for rare earth minerals and the world’s basket case.
Ghana the first country to attain independence in 1957 is still showing some teething problems. Only South Africa remains Africa’ s last born to attain its freedom but it is performing much better compared to its older siblings?
And why? South Africa although it was in the hands of the Boermag, who perfected the art of apartheid in excluding blacks economically and academically still brings hope to many Africans.
It has a sound judiciary system, good governance in almost all its public offices. Although some African countries are known for neglecting the above whether by omission or commission, they still need to up the ante.
Africa still has a long way to go to emancipate itself from economic and mental slavery.
The Bretton Woods institutions instead of pulling Africa out of bondage of poverty, it is technically pushing it further in the abyss.
The whole of Africa owes these institutions their future. The continent is ever in the revolving debt trap. Thanks to their financial systems which are brighter than ours.
They can cut us out anytime and our economies will scream for their aid to sustain us. America has the absolute right to print trillions anytime it deems necessary and feed in the hungry global financial institutions.
If we also follow the system our monies will be Russian rubles; worthless papers.
America is by all means trying to keep to itself the unipolar status, it hates the bi-polar or unipolar systems where it will share the spoils with other nations like China and Russia.
These two countries obliterate its new world order. That is why you see it is fighting everyone who dares to challenge or disagree with the order.
The Good
Most African countries got their independence with the help of the former Eastern Bloc countries.
These countries were perceived to be communist who hated economic empowerment and human rights.
They were called all sorts of names viz, corrupt, dictatorial, etc. But almost every country that freed itself from the imperialist bondage got help from them.
The so-called defenders of democracy were busy arming their kith and kin to keep on suffocating them. When these African countries attained their freedom, they resorted to reconciliation and they began to form strong ties with their former colonizers.
Zimbabwe’ s former colonisers also welcomed this gesture. The late Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for extending an olive branch to the Caucasians.
The good side of the story is that the whole continent of Africa has realised the double standards maneuvered by their former colonizers; and are now turning back to their real friends.
Although many of them contained relationships with their comrades in arms, it was just lukewarm. The U.S with its big tech companies always manufactured propaganda to denounce them.
Now the sun is rising for China, India, Brazil and Russia much to the chagrin of the western world. They are feeling the slippery of serfdom getting away from them.
The so- called coups in former French colonies were a game changer, as the young generals want to see real political and economic freedom.
The sub- Saharan region’ s refusal to condemn Russia’ s invasion of Ukraine was also a good move as the US wanted it to be its vassal forces against Comrade Putin.
What Russia did, sure was not okay, but for America to want to force African bodies to rally behind it was just hollow.
How can Zimbabwe and other countries under the US sanctions support it? From the advent of the Ukrainian war, President Mnangagwa played hard ball by abstaining to vote against Russia.
America in its haste promised Zimbabwe some tough games ahead. Also, South Africa hold its military training with Russia in its waters, again the US State Department frothed and warned it of untold repercussions to come.
Threats were NATO’ s undoing in seeking for favours against Russia.
It was too late when the US realised that group think was not working in the African continent; then it started deploying its foreign diplomats to court favour from the continent.
I hope Nkwame Nkrumah is smiling in his grave; Africa must rise and shine.
The bad
Although some few African leaders still believe that the Western world cares about them, it is just a myth, it doesn’t care about us.
Getting aid from the western world and getting good rates from Moody does not mean you have become part of them.
You are just a pawn in their game of geo-politics. Any African leader who gets a pat from these guys, you are a house nigga of the highest quality. Refrain from playing ball with these ‘ black mambas’, sorry ‘ white mambas’.
The Ugly
Right now, the NATO alliance is busy waging wars everywhere in this planet. They claim they are fighting for democracy.
Why not only fight for it in your alliance members? Why do you go to Ukraine to fight for democracy?
Is Ukraine a member of your alliance? Is Taiwan a member of your alliance?
Just frankly tell the world that that you are fighting for control of trade routes.
Democracy is now a word all “woke “people in the third world don’t subscribe to it. It was used to eliminate most third world leaders.
It is still used now to punish third world leaders who do not tow the line.
Unfortunately, many African countries are host to American, British, French, Russian military bases. African leaders if they want to be fair enough only Russia’ s bases must remain.
Why? Because it is not hostile to the continent. America instead of parading itself as it used to do in the 1970s and 80s. It is now busy flexing its military prowess.
The world is still stuck in 1939 mode because of America’ s bellicose attitude. We need peace and prosperity.
