MASVINGO-Zan PF Masvingo Province is ready for the annual cell verification day scheduled for 27 June, 2026.
Every year the ruling party conducts the exercise and this time members across the country are set to participate in the party’s annual Cell Verification Day scheduled for the last Saturday of June, as Zanu PF seeks to audit and strengthen its grassroots structures.
Speaking in an interview with The Midweek Watch, Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Spokesperson, Pepukai Chiwewe, said the exercise is a nationwide programme in which every party member is expected to verify their membership details at the cell where they are registered to vote.

“The Cell Verification Day is observed nationally and every party member, including the President, is expected to verify themselves at their respective cells. It is an important exercise for the party as it helps us assess the strength of our structures at grassroots level,” said Chiwewe.
He explained that the verification exercise serves as an annual audit of party membership, allowing the party to determine whether membership within cells has increased or decreased over the past year.
“This is more like an audit. We verify our members and assess whether numbers have grown or declined. The exercise helps us maintain accurate records and strengthen our organisational structures,” he said.
Chiwewe said the verification process also provides an opportunity for new members to join the party.
“New members are welcome to come and register during the exercise. This is part of our ongoing efforts to grow the party and ensure that our structures remain vibrant and active,” he added.
In Masvingo Province, which comprises seven districts, the exercise is expected to be conducted in thousands of cells spread across the province. Chiwewe revealed that Gutu District alone has 1,108 cells, highlighting the extensive grassroots network maintained by the party.
According to party regulations, each cell is made up of a minimum of 50 members and serves as the foundation of Zanu PF’s organisational structure.
