MIDWEEK REPORTER
BIKITA -Allegations of drug dealing involving members of staff at Tafara High School in ward 20, Bikita East have surfaced, raising concern among parents, learners and the wider community.

Sources close to the school told The Midweek Watch that a member of staff was picked by CID Zaka in January over allegations related to the sale of marijuana.
According to the sources, the teacher spent a day in police custody before being released.
The sources further alleged that drug-related activities are continuing at the school and that some members of staff may be aware of the alleged activities, but no report has been made to the police.
The claims also suggest that drugs are allegedly being supplied to businesses operating around the school.
When contacted for comment, Deputy Head Netsai Mawanza said she was not aware of the allegations.
“I am not aware of that and I do not know anything about it,” she said.
School Head Tafuma Mamutse also said he had no knowledge of the alleged activities.
“I don’t know about that. Our Deputy Head is a lady and I don’t think she can be doing that,” said Mamutse.
“We have projects that we are doing at the school and they are supervised by the Geography teacher and the Deputy Head. I think people are just jealous of them.”
