Mutare-Six suspects who allegedly murdered popular Dangamvura barber Clever Marumbwa recently have struck again by killing one of the two brothers that they attacked.
The six allegedly savagely attacked Shepherd and Liberty Vheremu, Manicaland Province police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed.
It is alleged that on Thursday, 1 August, at around 7 pm Shepherd Vherumu(24) and Liberty Vheremu(23) (now deceased) were coming from the city centre using a footpath to OTS Sakubva where they reside.
Upon reaching the railway line they were approached by 6 unknown adults who ordered them to surrender their valuables and satchels they were carrying.
Two of the suspects grabbed Shepherd whilst the other one cut his left ankle using a sharp object.
He further placed the knife by the neck and threatened to kill him if he fails to comply. They then took US$5 and a satchel with some cellphone chargers.
Whilst they were attacking Shepherd, Liberty tried to runaway and was caught by the other three accused persons and was stabbed twice, once on the thigh and once on the left buttock and the suspects vanished into the dark.
Upon realizing that they were free, Shepherd started looking for his brother and he found him about 5m from the
scene lying on the ground motionless. Shepherd ran to Mangenje Bar seeking for help and some people offered to help and went together to the scene.
