MASVINGO-Nasry Makanzwei (2) from Mucheke B was struck by a Masvingo City Council service vehicle while crossing the road with her mother and died on arrival at hospital.
Masvingo Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the fatal accident and urged parents to pay particular care to their children when walking on the road.
Nasry Makanzwei (2) from 1990 Muzenda Street Mucheke B was hit by a council vehicle while she was crossing the road with her mother.
“I can confirm the incident and we are urging the members of the public or motorists to pay attention to road signs and parents on the other hand should take care of their children when crossing busy roads,” said Dhewa.
He said on February 19, Langton Chikosi (46) from 307 Makuva Street , Mucheke A was driving a Masvingo City Council NP300 Nissan along a dust road near Pangolin Shops around 1930 hours.
At that time Mukanga was crossing the road with Nasry following her from behind when she was hit by the Council vehicle.
Nasry sustained head injuries and was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
