2 die in head on collission with bus at Mashava

MASHAVA-Two people died on the spot when a Toyota Belta they were travelling in was involved in head-on collision with a bus at the 38km peg along Mashava-Masvingo road around 5pm, yesterday

Munyaradzi Dube (34) who was driving the Toyota Belta from Masvingo and a female passenger Tapiwa Makaya (32) both from Banket Mine in Gwanda died on spot after sustaining head injuries as a result of the collision.

The police said Dube lost control of his vehicle while driving towards Mbalabala and encroached on the opposite lane resulting in the head on collision with the an oncoming bus

Two passengers in the bus sustained minor injuries and were taken to Mashava Clinic where they were treated and discharged on the same day.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital.

Acting Masvingo Province police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Patinyu Masauso urged drivers to be always alert on the road and avoid travelling when one is tired.
