The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Harare has arrested two suspects in connection with a case of attempted robbery which occurred along Shepperton Road, Granite Side on 21 October 2023 at a shop.
Malvin Chiwara (21), Tinashe Kutsime (22) and two other accomplices, reportedly pounced at the shop on the pretext that they wanted to buy 500 pairs of plastic pushes, before attacking the shop attendant.
ZRP said other suspects disappeared after the shop attendant escaped and sought assistance from the public.
Posting on their X account, ZRP said the arrest led to the recovery of the suspects’ getaway car, a Nissan March, registration number ADE 3867, hammer, machete, two screwdrivers and a metal hook.
Meanwhile, police in Harare are investigating a case of murder in which Makado Takawira (43) died whilst admitted at a local hospital in Harare on 21 October 2023.
The victim had arrived home in Sunningdale 2 with an injury on the head on 10 October 2023 after being attacked by unknown suspects.
Police said anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.
