In a display of corporate social responsibility, Sinomine Bikita Minerals conducted a breast cancer awareness and free screening exercise for more than 400 villagers from the surrounding communities.

The event, led by Bikita District Medical Officer Talia Mungwari, aimed to educate and empower locals in the fight against breast cancer.

“Early detection is crucial in combating breast cancer, we encourage women to undergo screening regularly and adopt self-examination practices to identify potential issues promptly,” said Mungwari.

At least 400 women and men benefited from the screening, which included training on self-examination techniques to detect potential lumps or abnormalities. Mungwari emphasized the importance of regular check-ups, urging women to prioritize their health.
