With just 100 days to go until the Convention on Wetlands’ COP15 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, the excitement is building, this pivotal global event, scheduled for July 23-31, 2025, will bring together leaders, environmentalists, and communities to address pressing wetland issues.

Environmental Management Authority Spokesperson Amkela Sidange said, “Wetlands are vital ecosystems providing numerous benefits, including biodiversity, water quality improvement, flood control, and carbon sequestration.
“During COP15, participants will focus on developing conservation strategies, promoting sustainable practices, and encouraging community involvement in wetland management.”
The agency wishes to remind everyone of the conference’s theme, “Protecting wetlands for our common future,” emphasizing the importance of preserving these ecosystems for future generations.
As the countdown continues, this historic event offers a crucial opportunity for global collaboration and action to protect wetlands.
