One person died at hospital while 14others were left nursing varying injuries in a traffic road accident along the Roy-Chiredzi road at around 1130am on December 27.
According to the Police, a Toyota Hiace kombi carrying 12 passengers was traveling towards Chiredzi when it attempted to overtake an Audi A6 Sedan with three passengers on board.
The Audi vehicle was turning right, resulting in a collision with the kombi. Tragically, one person died upon admission at Musiso Mission Hospital, while 14 others were injured. The body of the victim was taken to the Musiso Mission Hospital mortuary for post-mortem, and the injured are currently admitted at the same hospital.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi emphasized the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic laws.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges all drivers to exercise caution and patience on the roads, especially during peak holiday seasons,” he stated.
