Zvishavane serial thief convicted of 2 dozen cases

ZVISHAVANE-Zvishavane based serial house breaker Nyikadzino Tsuro( 38) who is linked to 21 criminal cases, was  arrested in the mining town on 8 July 2023 by Police and convicted yesterday.

Tsuro is from Muzvidziwa Village under Chief Madyangove in Gongwa area, Chivi District.

He was tried and convicted at Zvishavane Magistrate court on 11 July 2023 and remanded in custody to 14 July 2023 for sentencing.

Tsuro mostly targeted groceries, clothing items and blankets which US$6858 and some of the stolen items were recovered during the arrest by Police.

Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Midweek that most of the crimes were committed in New-Low density village and other surrounding residential suburbs in Zvishavane.

“Most recoveries were made in Mhondongori Village, Zvishavane from people who had bought the property from him,” said Mahoko.

Tsuro was convicted of eight of thefts of clothing items from washing lines, another eight are of breaking into premises, three cases are linked to thefts of property kept in perimeter walls at residential premises and two are through opening of locked doors by use of duplicate keys.
