ZVISHAVANE-Peter Vengesai of Village 1, Zeederburg under Chief Mafala in Zvishavane was killed after being run over by a train on Monday.
Vengesayi was found lying on the railway tracks when the train passed over him.
In a statement released by the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) expressed its condolences to the bereaved family.
“The NRZ is saddened by the loss of life in this unfortunate incident and extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Peter Vengesayi,” reads part of the statement.
Police in the Midlands province and railway officials have since launched an investigation to determine how and why the deceased came to be on the tracks at the time of the accident.
