The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Masvingo Province has urged the public especially motorists to observe and follow all road regulations during the ongoing controlled blasting exercise being carried out by Masimba Holdings along the Masvingo–Beitbridge Highway.

The blasting, which started on Monday and runs until the end of August, is part of the ongoing road rehabilitation works aimed at enhancing road safety and efficiency.

Speaking to The Midweek Watch, ZRP Masvingo Province Deputy Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu said, “We urge the public and motorists to adhere to road markings and signs when using the road and to be extra careful during the period of blasting at the affected area to avoid injuries or accidents.”

Members of the public are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes where possible to avoid unnecessary delays.

He added that the ZRP remains committed to working closely with stakeholders to ensure the safety of all road users during this period.
