ZPCS Masvingo to hold sports gala

MASVINGO- The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Masvingo province will host its annual Officer Commanding Sports Gala from 24 to 27 July 2025 at Alpha Mpapa High School in Chiredzi.

ZPCS Public Relations Officer (PRO) Correctional Officer Tendai Lessley Chamaida confirmed the development to The Midweek Watch saying the event is aimed to promote physical fitness, strengthen unity and boost morale within the correctional service.

“The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Masvingo Province will host its annual Officer Commanding Sports Gala from 24 to 27 July at Alpha Mpapa High School grounds, Chikombedzi in Chiredzi,” she said.

She said the event themed, “Enhancing Corrections Through Sport will see participants battling for honours in a variety of sporting disciplines including football, netball, volleyball, athletics, darts ,chess ,pool and tug of war.

“Running under the theme ,”Enhancing Corrections Through Sport. This highly anticipated event aims to promote physical fitness, strengthen unity and boost morale within the correctional service.

” Athletes will compete in a variety of sporting disciplines including football, netball, volleyball, athletics, darts ,chess ,pool and tug of war.

“Outstanding teams will earn the opportunity to represent the province at the esteemed Commissioner General’s Sports Gala at national level.

“The ZPCS Masvingo Province invites all stakeholders and community members to support this celebration of discipline ,teamwork and excellence in corrections,” she said.
