ZPCS Masvingo Province Golf Tournament Tees Off with 18 sponsors onboard

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Masvingo Province is preparing to host the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fund Golf Tournament on March 28.

This year’s edition which is being organised by sports officer and veteran golfer Rumbidzai Mabhiza has attracted an impressive 18 sponsors, demonstrating the community’s commitment to supporting the ZPCS’s charity initiatives.

Byword Motors is the platinum sponsor while Netone is also a main sponsor contributing USD $2,500 to the tournament.

Byword Motors, a leading automotive company, offers a range of vehicles for purchase, as well as vehicle maintenance and repair services, their complementary activities include panel beating and spray painting, fuel sales, Byword Transport and logistics, tow service, and brake and clutch services.

Netone, Zimbabwe’s leading mobile network operator, provides voice, data, mobile financial, and value-added services, moreso, their sponsorship underscores their dedication to supporting community events.

Other notable sponsors include Econet, Great Zimbabwe Realtors, Central Real Estate, Mzenda Foundation, AFC, POSB, Bancabc, Lulu Events, Securico Security, Urban Lifestyle Hotel, Kyleview Lodges, Promo Exor, Moonlight, Nyaradzo, Old Mutual, and The Midweek Watch which is providing coverage and advertising space.

Urban Lifestyles’ Managing Director, Shanna Tariro Mazorodze said they are delighted to be providing accommodation as part of their sponsorship for the charity event.

With 120 players expected to participate, the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fund Golf Tournament promises to be an exciting event.

The tournament is held annually to fundraise for the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fund. This fund is meant to assist dependents of deceased members of the ZPCS.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) Correctional Officer Tendai Lessley Chamaida confirmed the development in an interview.  She said they are targeting to raise US$5 000 from the tournament.

“The tournament will be held at the pristine Masvingo Golf Course on March 28, 2025. Preparations for the tournament are on course. Registration for golfers is still open and all stakeholders who wish to participate are welcome to register.

“I take this opportunity to invite all members of the public willing to join hands with the ZPCS to transform the lives of the disadvantaged.

“Companies willing to advertise are also welcome to exhibit at the golf course for a fee. There is also going to be a lot of merriment and exciting activities to entertain members of the public,” she said.

Many dependents have benefited from the fund which include payment of school fees for orphans, food donations to widows and widowers, clothes among other things.
