ZNCC urges entrepreneurs to venture into foreign markets

MASVINGOThe Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) has encouraged women entrepreneurs to engage the organisation so that they explore foreign markets for their goods and products.

This was said by Patience Moyo the ZNCC Masvingo Province administrator during a two day training workshop women entrepreneurs on how to explore business opportunities in the country.

More than 30 women attended the workshop from Masvingo and Zvishavane which was running under the theme “Transforming Economic Realities into Market Opportunities.

The interactive two day training was funded by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with main speakers from Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) under the department of Commerce.

Dean of Commerce at GZU, Dr Ledwin Chimwai and her other counterparts tackled different topics amongst them was on how women should run their businesses, how to participate in emerging business opportunities and how to communicate, negotiate and lead their organisations.

ZNCC Masvingo chairperson who is also N.Richards Group Sothern Region Director. Andrew Chekani said that the workshop was for women entrepreneurs who were encouraged to participate in foreign markets and to be professional in their business approach especially the small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in this rapid technologically changing world.

“This workshop was meant for women to gain skills they need to foster business and professional growth and also to ensure that women owned Small to Medium Enterprises(SMEs) can participate in emerging opportunities resulting from rapid technological change”, said Chekani.

The highly successful two day workshop was facilitated by veteran events organiser, Lulu Shoko of Lulu Events Management.
