Andrew Chekani, the ZNCC Masvingo Chapter Chairperson, delivered a compelling address that underscored the crucial role of the Chamber in fostering business growth and enhancing regional competitiveness.

“The functions of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce are vital in developing and enhancing entrepreneurship, identifying the needs of the membership and representing the views of businesses to local and national authorities,” Chekani remarked, emphasizing the significant influence of ZNCC in shaping the business landscape.

Chekani elaborated on the various ways ZNCC supports its members, highlighting the Chamber’s role in providing access to local and international market information, offering training on best business practices, and facilitating opportunities for business to business networking. He stressed that these platforms enable members to learn from one another, build stronger businesses, and ultimately contribute to a more resilient and competitive local economy.

“The importance of these networking sessions cannot be overstated. When businesses come together, share ideas, and support one another, we create a thriving ecosystem where everyone can succeed,” Chekani added.

One of the key highlights of the event was the recognition of CABS for becoming a new member of ZNCC. During the session, Chekani presented the membership certificate to CABS’s branch manager, Susan Chinyuke, who expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the ZNCC family.

“We are excited to join ZNCC, as it offers us the chance to network with other businesses, share knowledge, and contribute to the overall development of the local business community,” Chinyuke said.

Chekani’s call for more businesses to engage with ZNCC was evident throughout the session. “The benefits of being a member are vast,” he stated.

“From access to valuable business information to networking opportunities with key stakeholders, ZNCC offers a platform for businesses to thrive in a competitive environment.”

He emphasized that the Chamber’s resources and support are invaluable, regardless of the size or sector of the business. Whether large corporations or small enterprises, businesses can find a supportive network that enhances their growth and success.

The theme for ZNCC this year, “From Resilience to Competitiveness: Charting a New Path for Sustainable Industrial Growth,” highlights the importance of businesses becoming resilient in the face of challenges. This theme stresses the need for continuous adaptation to stay competitive both locally and internationally. Chekani emphasized that the work of ZNCC is not just about addressing current business needs but about shaping the future of business in Masvingo and beyond.

“The work we do at ZNCC is not just about today; it’s about shaping the future of business in Masvingo and beyond. We are here to guide and support you, whether you are a new start-up or an established company,” Chekani concluded, reiterating the Chamber’s commitment to supporting businesses at every stage of their development.

ZNCC’s invitation for businesses to become members remains open, offering a dynamic platform for those seeking to be part of a community that fosters growth, sustainability, and competitiveness. With a strong focus on collaboration and continuous development.
