Reformed Church in Zimbabwe run Zimuto High School in Masvingo District has once again demonstrated its academic prowess, achieving an impressive 96% pass rate in the 2024 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council A-Level examinations.

A total of 105 students sat for the exams.

This remarkable feat is a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to nurturing the minds of future leaders.

Acting school head, Brighton Makota said the school’s performance showed significant improvements in certain areas, notably, the number of students scoring 15 points and above more than doubled, from 9 in 2023 to 23 in 2024. This upward trend is a clear indication of the school’s efforts to raise the academic bar,” said Makota.

He added that two students achieved an outstanding 20 points, while two more scored 19 points. A total of 70 students scored 10 points and above, demonstrating the school’s ability to produce well-rounded and high-achieving students.

“Although the pass rate decreased slightly from 100% in 2023 to 96% in 2024, the school’s overall performance has increased qualitatively. The significant improvement in the number of students scoring high points is a clear indication of the school’s progress,”

“While we acknowledge a slight decrease in our pass rate, we are proud of the significant improvements in our students’ scores, particularly in the 15 points and above category. This increase is a clear indication that we are moving in the right direction, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive the best possible education,” he expressed.

The head attributed the school’s success to the collaborative efforts of the students, teachers, and parents.

“We are grateful for the support of our parents and the community, who have played a vital role in our students’ achievements. We will continue to strive for excellence and ensure that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.”
