Zimusi takes over vice presidency at NAAZ

Gweru-Masvingo Athletics Board chairperson Walter Zimusi is the new National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe first vice president for the next four years.

Tendayi Tagara retained the presidency uncontested after being nominated by all provinces.

The post of 1st VP fell vacant following the death of Tito Madzingo and it was hotly contested by

 Shumba Njere 3

Nhoro Elias 5

Zimusi Walter S 13 votes.

Machaya sailed through to be 2nd VP uncontested.

It is Zimusi’s victory that has brought jubilation in Masvingo Province with speaker after speaker showering praises on the outcome.

NAAZ leadership.

“Madzingo was the godfather of athletics in Masvingo, and Zimusi has been nurtured accordingly.

“We are delighted because Masvingo is well represented at the highest level” they said.

Zimusi will relinquish his Masvingo at n elective AGM to be held on a date tom be made public soon.

He holds a WARECs ( World Athletics Referee ) Silver Level Qualification among other WA Quilifications.
