HARARE-The Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has thrown a lifeline to students who want to sit for June 2023 examinations.
ZIMSEC spokesperson, Nicky Dhlamini said this in a statement released yesterday where she says the June Ordinary and Advanced level registration have been extended to the 24th of March next week.
Dhlamini said, parents and guardians can pay the examination fees in local currency using the interbank exchange rate of ZW$1005 to US$ 1.
“Parents and guardians are guided to pay the fees in a currency of their own choice (Rands, USD or ZWL). Payments in ZWL are to be made using the prevailing interbank USD to ZWL exchange rate as of the 17th of March 2023,” said Dhlamini.
She also added that the government subsidy for the examinations does not apply to candidates retaking any subjects.
Dhlamini also said that the basic education assistance module (BEAM) program does not support those who are sitting for examinations for the second time.
She urged those who want to sit for the June examinations to comply with the continuous assessment learning activities (CALA) requirements.
