Ratidzo Zimcare School in Mucheke Suburb has extended a begging bowl to the business community and well-wishers for funds to enable it to host the 2025 national sports expo for children intellectual disabilities.

The games are scheduled to run from 21 to 25 July 2025 at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo City.

The letter of appeal signed by the school head Bernadette Chihava and sent to well-wishers states that the sports expo will bring together about 420 participants from 13 Zimcare centres across all 10 provinces.

Participants will compete in various athletics and ball games, offering children with intellectual disabilities a platform to showcase their talents and foster inclusion.

According to the letter, the Zimcare Trust, a charitable organization, organizes these annual games rotationally among its centres, however, with many of the children’s families facing economic hardship, the trust relies heavily on donations in cash or kind to make the event a success.

“Since we are hosting participants from all 10 provinces, you are granted the opportunity to advertise your company’s products or services at the venue during the three-day competitions,” said Chihava.

Those who wish to donate can contact the school head on +263 392 263 579 or on 0773640 207.

Alternatively those who wish to deposit cash can do so in First Capital Account: Ratidzo Zimcare School
