MASVINGO-The stage is set for the much-anticipated ZIFA regional elections, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 December 2025 at Chevron Hotel in Masvingo.

Contestants for both the Eastern Region Soccer League and Masvingo Province will battle it out for leadership positions.

In the Eastern Region Soccer League (men’s category) Wisdom Simba and Special Matarirano will battle it out for the influential chairperson position. Gray Hama is unopposed for the vice chairperson post. The board member positions will be contested by Mollen Makumbe, Stefani Masina, Onismas Nyikadzino, Simbarashe Mandishona and Rodgers Banda.

For Eastern Region Women’s Football, Rosemary Muzvidziwa was elected unopposed for the chairperson post. The vice chairperson position remains vacant while Victor Sanyangore and Winfreda Chagweda are vying for board membership positions.
In the Masvingo Province ZIFA executive, Nobioth Magwizi and James Macheka were not contested for the chairperson and vice chairperson roles respectively. The board member race features Mark Mlambo, Collins Munemo, Tinos Chivasa, Robson Kurwa and Morelife Mapeture.
The elections are expected to usher in a renewed administrative era with candidates pledging to prioritise grassroots football development, transparency and robust league governance.
Stakeholders are closely watching the process, hoping the elected leadership will elevate football standards across the region.
