Zion Christian Church Kumukakuvakafa (ZCCK) led by Bishop Lyphet Mugaviri Matenda held a resounding church conference last Saturday that was attended by multitudes of congregants at its Canaan Sub Headquarters Office in Rutenga.

District Development Coordinator, Isaac Mutambara represented the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira.
In a speech read on his behalf, Chadzamira congratulated Bishop Lyphet Mugaviri Matenda and the Zion Christian Church Kumukakuvakafa for holding the historic conference which was ornamented with three distinct events.
“May l congratulate your esteemed church on its 49th Anniversary which also coincides with your 42th birthday and your recent appointment to the post of vice presidency of the Apostolic Christian Churches Association of Zimbabwe. Your appointment is a testimony to your dedication in raising the spirituality of our Nation Zimbabwe”

Chadzamira also acknowledged Bishop Matenda’s contribution to the development of Zimbabwe as witnessed by a number of life changing initiatives among his congregants, chief being the establishment of Canaan Primary School.
“l am humbled by your contribution to the development of our nation, through offering social services such like education. This aligns with the vision of H.E. President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa which aims to transform our societies for the better as we journey towards the realisation of Vision 2030,” he said.
President of the Apostolic Christian Churches Association of Zimbabwe, Archbishop Edgar Maireva hailed Bishop Lyphet Mugaviri Matenda for preserving the legacy of the Zion Christian Church Kumukakuvakafa (ZCCK).
“As we gather here, l am humbled that you are continuing with the legacy of your father. The church is growing and it now boasts of a school,” said Archbishop Maireva.
Mwenezi Rural District Council Chair, Councillor Admire Matutu thanked Bishop Matenda for uplifting the standard of life of people in Mwenezi. “Bishop Matenda is demonstrating to us that spirituality moves together with physiological needs. An educated society is enlightened and through spiritual teachings our families are at peace” echoed Councillor Matutu.
The event was punctuated by song, dance and jubilation in celebration of Bishop Matenda’s 42th birthday, 49th Anniversary of the ZCCK church and the appointment of Bishop Matenda as vice president of the Apostolic Christian Churches Association of Zimbabwe.
