FARAI CHITOTOMBE
ZAKA-Munyaradzi Rugovera from Ruzvidzo Village in Chief Nyakunhuwa area was allegedly murdered on July 20, 2023 at around 1pm by his companion, Tawedzerwa Nezvikonde.
According to Masvingo Province Police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa the two were walking on a footpath from Chemazizi Shopping Centre and they appeared to be very drunk as they could be heard quarreling.
It is believed Nezvikonde was not happy with the deceased for a yet unknown reason.
The same day at around 2pm it is reported that a grade one girl coming from Muzara Primary School using the same path saw the body of Rugovera laying lifeless and she went to tell other villagers who reported to the police.
The police attended to the scene and the body was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital.
“We are appealing to the public that anyone with information about the whereabouts and anything that can aide to the arrest of Tawedzerwa Nezvikonde should come forward and assist.”
