A furious woman who severed her boyfriend’s testicles and then burned his body, after allegedly catching him attempting to rape her 11 year old daughter, has been found not guilty of his murder.
According to Estado de Minas, Erica Pereira da Silveria Vicente admitted to killing her partner Everton Amaro de Silva in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
She claimed she was just attempting to shield her 11-year-old daughter from sexual assault.
When she rushed to her screaming daughter, after receiving frightening texts from the predator, she found him on top of her, attempting to rape her, according to reports.
Prosecutors, however, maintained that the murder’s ferocity demonstrated that it was committed “not in blind rage but with cold premeditation.”
Prosecutors claim that the mother stabbed and clubbed de Silva while he was asleep after adding Klonopin, a drug used to treat seizures, to his drink.
Jurors were informed that Vicente severed the deceased man’s genitalia and set fire to his body after an adolescent, who heard screams, assisted the mother in carrying the body to a wasteland near Belo Horizonte.
After tracking a blood trail to Vicente’s Belo Horizonte apartment, where she turned over the knife, police connected her to the murder.
Although she admitted to the murder, she maintained that it was solely done to protect her child.
After just one day of hearing, the jury found the mother not guilty of aggravated homicide and destroying a corpse on Tuesday.
The mother, who had previously been incarcerated for a year while awaiting trial, was found not guilty by the judge.
It’s the latest such chilling case in Brazil in which a man’s manhood has been severed.
Five years ago, Dayane Machado, another Brazilian, cut off her husband’s private parts and fried it in soybean oil.
After an argument, Machado, 33, was detained in the Brazilian city of Sao Goncalo on suspicion of killing her husband Andre and severing his manhood with a kitchen knife.
Adriana Santos, Andre’s sister, said Machado killed her brother as payback for his infidelity.
However, according to her attorney, Carla Policarpo, she killed Andre in self-defence after he threatened her.
Despite being apart for two years, the couple, who had a five-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son at the time, still saw each other occasionally.
“He did not accept the end of the relationship and said that she could not be with anyone if she could not be with him,” Policarpo stated.
In an extreme act of retaliation, Machado, who was accused of murder, joins a small group of women who have disfigured their partners.
And then there’s the case of Lorena Bobbitt, from Virginia, who became internationally known in 1993 after she severed her husband’s private parts and drove off with them in her car.
Lorena stated that during their four years of marriage, John Wayne Bobbitt had physically, sexually, and emotionally abused her.
She said that in addition to stealing from her, he cheated on her and made her have an abortion. AOL
