After securing the $15 000 required for a life saving operation in India, Denlord Chimuka (9) is faced with another hurdle, he and the mother do not have money to acquire passports to fly to the Asian country.

The two require $170 each to get the all important travelling documents.

Despite having secured funding and confirmed appointment at BLK Max Hospital in India, Denlord’s hopes are now hanging in the balance due to a critical obstacle – his mother, Barbra Chimuka, and he do not have money to acquire passports.

The cost of obtaining passports, pegged at $340, is proving to be a significant hurdle for the family, threatening to derail Denlord’s chances of receiving the treatment he urgently needs. The operation is scheduled for the end of October 2025 and any further delay could have devastating consequences.

“We were so hopeful that we were finally going to get our boy the treatment he needs, but now this passport issue is threatening to ruin everything,” said Chimuka.

“We are appealing to anyone who can help us get these passports so that Denlord can get the treatment he desperately needs,” she added.

Denlord’s story was first highlighted by The Midweek Watch, which sparked an outpouring of support from well-wishers.

The total estimated cost for Denlord’s treatment and travel is $14,970, and the family is grateful for the support they have received so far.

However, the lack of passports is now the only thing standing in the way of Denlord’s treatment. The family is urging anyone who can help them to secure the passports to come forward.

Denlord is afflicted by a heart ailment and cannot talk, walk, and is experiencing breathing problems.

The mother can be contacted on +263 785335729.
