MUTARE-One person was killed in an accident that happened at the 61km peg along Mutare Masvingo Highway last week on Friday at around midday.
Jefta Ngorima (26) of Munyoro Village under Chief Zimunya who was aboard a Mitsubishi Canter truck died upon admission at Mutambara Hospital after suffering head injuries in an accident following a tyre burst.
Manicaland Province Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident to The Midweek Watch and said the Canter veered off the road following a front tyre burst as it was heading to Masvingo with three passengers on board and it hit a Toyota Land Cruiser which was heading towards Mutare.
The driver of the Canter was seriously injured and is admitted at Victoria Chitepo Hospital.
Nyasha Murahwa (43) of Murahwa Village under Chief Zimunya in Mutare was driving the Canter truck, while Jobert Zacharias Francois (31) of subdivision 20 Annex Farm in Chipinge was driving the Toyota Land Cruiser.
