CHISUMBANJE-Castle Lager Premier Soccer League new boys Chisumbanje based side Greenfuel FC will this weekend play at their home ground, Greenfuel Stadium after being given the green light to host topflight games.

Greenfuel will clash with fellow Gweru based new boys Sheasham FC on Saturday.

Kick-off time is 3pm.

Greenfuel will be looking forward to a win after a 2-0 defeat last week to fellow Manicaland brothers Manica Diamonds FC.

The stadium has a carrying capacity of 10 000 people.

Greenfuel spokesperson, Merit Rumema told Midweek Watch Sport that the ZIFA First Instance Board cleared Greenfuel Stadium following an inspection done last week.

The Greenfuel Stadium could not host PSL games because of its condition at the onset of the current season. It did not meet required minimum standards required by First Instance Board and has been going through renovations.

As a result, Ethanol boys were forced to use Gibbo Stadium in Triangle as their home ground.

The renovations started in October last year. The scope of work at the stadium included a perimeter wall around the stadium, ablution facilities, changing rooms, a media box and water drainage

“Greenfuel Arena have gone through massive development and have been cleared to host this weekend’s home match.  The FIB came last week and gave us the green light. We are very excited about this development,” she said.

Playing at Greenfuel Stadium will reduce Greenfuel FC’s traveling costs. Fans will also have an opportunity to watch their favourite team in action at their home ground as the twelfth man always make a difference in football.

Greenfuel is 9th on the log from 21 round of matches, they have won seven, drawn five and lost seven times.
