Vice President Col (Rtd) Kembo Mohadi is set to officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of student halls of residence at Shonganiso Mission, Masvingo Central, on Friday, 1 August 2025.

The deputy director in Mohadi’s office, Dr Takudzwa Zvobgo confirmed to The Midweek Watch the ceremony as he said; “it is an important ceremony as a lot of things are going to be taking place,”.

The event is part of a Community Development Campaign held in honour of the late Reverend Jonasi Mudadirwa Zvobgo and Dr. Eddison Zvobgo, founders and visionaries behind Shonganiso Mission, remembered for their lifelong commitment to uplifting black African communities through education and empowerment.

Leading up to the ceremony, the programme will begin on 31 July 2025 with community focused initiatives including, medical outreach and first aid training, led by the Ministry of Health in partnership with Discovery Ambulance Services, under the banner of the national anti drugs and substance abuse campaign and digital skills training by the Ministry of ICT, targeting the youth.

Local residents and stakeholders have been encouraged to attend as the initiative supports national goals of inclusive development, under the theme “Leaving no one and no place behind.”
