On the same day, VP Mohadi commissioned a state-of-the-art digital skills laboratory at the same learning institution.

There was also a drug and substance abuse campaign where hundreds of people were provided with free medical assistance under the Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme.

VP Mohadi emphasized the importance of Public-Private Partnerships in driving development. “The work being done here at Shonganiso is a reflection of our government’s efforts with the private sector,” he said. The new student halls of residence will create a conducive environment for learning, foster a sense of community, and promote academic excellence.

The fight against drugs and substance abuse is a top priority and the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kazembe Kazembe, called for stiffer penalties for offenders.

Also in attendance was the Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Tatenda Mavetera who highlighted the government’s thrust to ensure access to the internet for all.

Masvingo Province is reaping the benefits of government development programs. Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, expressed gratitude for the initiatives at Shonganiso. The African Reformed Church is also playing its part in supporting government efforts to bring education to everyone.

The event was a massive success, with Shonganiso Mission receiving donations to boost its operations. Vulnerable groups from the community received wheelchairs and food hampers. Earlier, VP Mohadi paid respects to the late Founding Bishop of the African Reformed Church, Reverend Bishop Rungano Jonas Mudadirwa Zvobgo, and his wife, Esther Zvobgo.
