MASVINGO CITY-Victoria Junior Government School has maintained its status as an academic giant in Masvingo Province as shown by the recently released Zimbabwe School Examinations Council grade7 results where it posted an impressive 98.4% pass rate.

Only two pupils failed a subject each out of the 188 who sat for the examinations.
In an interview with the Mid-week Watch the school Head Dr. Rameck Mashuro expressed his satisfaction with the overall performance of the pupils.
“We are pleased with the achievements of our pupils, and we appreciate the unwavering support of our parents and the dedication of our teachers, their collective efforts have contributed significantly to the school’s performance.
“These great results are a culmination of the unwavering support from all the stakeholders, our teachers’ dedication and commitment and our learners’ resilience. Together we have taken the school to loft heights. Our learners need that continued support, financially, emotionally and materially as they transition to the next stage of their secondary education. We encourage them to stay away from any form of bad influence that might derail them from what they are today.” said Dr. Mashuro.
The school’s overall performance was strong, as substantiated by the Head detailing an overall score of 98.4 and other metrics like 5 pupils scoring 6units, 29 pupils achieving 7 units, among other breakdowns, last year they scored 97, 5%.
Anderson Masharira, the School Development Committee Chairperson, echoed Mashuro’s sentiments, thanking the teachers and parents for their dedication.

“We appreciate the tireless efforts of our teachers and the support of our parents, we are proud of our pupils’ achievements, and we aim to achieve 100% pass rate next year,” Masharira said.
