MASVINGO-What started as a simple Whatsapp group has now become a powerful voice for teenagers across Zimbabwe. Teenagers With Purpose (TWP), is a youth-led organization founded by Wadzanai Mbengo in January 2023.
The organization is dedicated to empowering teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19 through advocacy, leadership and awareness on children’s rights. This year, the organization proudly celebrates its 3rd anniversary, marking three years of driving purpose-led change in communities and creating safe spaces for young voices.
With over 100 active members, the organization has led impactful discussions on issues such as gender based violence, mental health, teenage pregnancy, drugs and substance abuse and youth leadership. Its motto “Let the power be given to us,” continues to fuel a movement of young people choosing to live with purpose.
To celebrate this milestone, TWP is commemorating its third anniversary on 24 January 2026 at Hippo Creek Resort, Masvingo. This event is open to all TWP members, non-members and well wishers. Attendees are required to pay a fee of $8 per person, which covers food, drinks, transport (to and from) and also entry fees.
As TWP looks ahead, it plans to host its official Harare launch later in the year and expand its reach to more teenagers across Zimbabwe. The organization welcomes partners, donors and youth advocates to support its mission.
