MASVINGO- A Makande man (44) from Ruware area in Mukwasine died after he was fatally assaulted by two men while drinking traditional beer over an unknown misunderstanding.
Rangarirai Baradze from Mukwasine, Chiredzi was found dead by his neighbor in his home after being kicked several times all over the body by two suspects who are still at large.
Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident and appealed for information which may lead the arrest of the suspects.
“The two people involved will be charged for murder and as police we are appealing to the members of the public to assist us with the information which may lead to the arrest of the two people,” he said.
Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that on May 17, Baradze left Farm 6 compound in Mukwasine to his home in Makande.
He decided to pass through Gutsaruzhinji homestead to drink some traditional beer.
While drinking beer an argument arose between Baradze and two unknown individuals who physically assaulted him by kicking and beating him all over the body.
The next day while at home at around 6pm the deceased started complaining of chest pains upon which he was rushed to Chipiwa Clinic by his younger brother Ruramai Baradze.
He was attended to and referred to Chiredzi General Hospital for further treatment and tests but failed to go the same day.
On May 19, Ruramai left his brother and went to look for transport at the nearby bus station to ferry his brother to hospital.
Around 4pm a neighbor who had come intending to check on the deceased found him dead inside the house.
The police was informed and the body was taken to Chiredzi District Hospital.
