Traditional healer charged for killing couple

CHIREDZI- In a bizarre incident that has left the Mkwasine community speechless, it is alleged that Tambudzai Tambana and Lyton Machira a couple died from a concoction which they were given by a traditional healer.

Masvingo Province Deputy Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Patinyu Masauso confirmed the incident to The Midweek Watch.

The incident happened on 16 April 2024 at 1700hrs in Village 1 Senuko 3, Mkwasine.

Tambana and her husband Machira went and sought help from Tafandirwo Runhare, a traditional healer after she having a miscarriage.

It is alleged that Runhare gave the couple a prepared concoction to clean their system.

 After drinking the concoction, the two started having serious running stomachs.

Runhare panicked, he and other well wishers rushed the couple to Gudo Clinic where Tambana was pronounced dead upon arrival, Machira was further transferred to St Peters Hospital where he passed away after 2 days.

The matter is still under police investigation.

Assistant Inspector Masauso urged members of the public to seek medical care from registered medical institutions rather than exposing their lives to unauthorized traditional healers.
