CHIREDZI-A youthful tractor driver lost his life when a it overturned at the 1km peg along Zaka Old Road.
On October 12, around 7pm, along the Old Zaka Road, 1km peg, a fatal accident occurred resulting in the death of James Hobwani (21).
Masvingo Province ZRP spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed that Hobwani, a resident of Village 1 Magumire in Chiredzi, was driving a tractor with two passengers when he lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle overturned, landing on its wheels, and the driver sustained severe spinal injuries.
He was rushed to Chiredzi General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.
Two passengers were also injured, with one in serious condition.
The tractor was extensively damaged and had a deformed exhaust pipe, mangled mudguard, and crushed canopy.
Inspector Dhewa encouraged drivers to exercise caution on the roads to avoid such accidents.
