CHIVHU-The Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy in partnership with Delta Force Boxing Academy, is set to host a major boxing tournament on the November 1, 2025 at Philjen Country Lodges in Chivhu.

The event runs under the theme “Trabablas, Gloves On Zimbabwe.”

Speaking to The Midweek Watch, boxing champion Charles Manyuchi said the term Trabablas is used in appreciation of the developmental efforts spearheaded by the President.

The tournament also serves as a platform to raise awareness about drug and substance abuse among youths.

“When we say Gloves On, we are encouraging young people to put their energy into sport, keeping them away from drugs,” said Manyuchi.

The tournament is part of a broader regional campaign that will span across all provinces in Zimbabwe and extend to other SADC countries, all aimed at using sport to fight drugs and promote youth empowerment.

Manyuchi revealed that 46 participants have registered, including 22 international boxers and a special Trabablas Belt will be contested at national level.

The next edition of the tournament is scheduled for December in Mutare, with dates and venue to be announced.
