MASVINGO-Mwenezi District’s Tokwe-Mukosi Primary, physical education and gymnastics team defied the odds by coming out tops in the Masvingo Provincial National Association of Primary Heads (NAPH) competitions held on Friday, 6 March at Victoria High.

The Marasha Elias trained side, put up a splendid performance which saw it scoop the gold medal and grab the sole ticket to represent Masvingo Province at the national competitions to be held in Marondera from 18-20 March.
An ecstatic Marasha, was on cloudy nine as he shared how this achievement had been a dream come true.
“We are Tokwe-Mukosi, a school from a humble background, with nothing much to show in terms of resources…, all that does not define who we are. The support from our esteemed Member of Parliament Hon Sheillah Chikomo and our parents is our motivating factor to greatness ” said Marasha.
Chikomo, Member of Parliament for Mwenezi East Constituency is bankrolling the construction of the first standard classroom block at Tokwe-Mukosi Primary.

The milestone achievement by Tokwe-Mukosi Primary team, comes at a time when MP Chikomo has unveiled, another consignment of bags of cement towards the construction of the classroom block which is now nearing window level.
“This milestone achievement, we dedicate it to Hon Sheillah Chikomo who had been a perennial donor to the school” highlighted Marasha who holds a number of certificates in Physical Education.
MP Chikomo congratulated Tokwe-Mukosi Primary for flying the flag high in Mwenezi East Constituency regardless of the challenges at the school. “l am proud of this achievement by Tokwe-Mukosi Primary, this achievement proves beyond shadows of doubt that, challenges are not a pull down factor but a test of perseverance, well-done Tokwe-Mukosi for showing the Province the stuff you are made of,”
