A road accident happened on March 15 at around 2:30 pm at 43km peg along Tokwe-Mandamabwe road, killing two people on board on the spot.
The ZRP Masvingo Province police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that, the vehicle involved was a Nissan NP300 which crashed at the 43km peg when the driver, Lloyd Tapiwa Chengedza (37), failed to negotiate a curve.
The car veered off the road, overturned, and landed on the driver’s side extensively damaging the vehicle in the process.
Unfortunately, both the driver and the passenger, whose name has not been disclosed, succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
Inspector Dhewa urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to safe driving practices to prevent such tragic accidents.
