Today’s pleasure is tomorrow’s pain so they say.
A lot of very promising young people, prominent artists, professionals, businessmen, prostitutes and many other people died between mid 80s and 2015 from the dreaded HIV/AIDS which they got in the belief that they were enjoying.
The most hard hit people when AIDS started spreading were the affluent, the young and energetic young generation of the mid 80s to the late 90s going into the early 2000s. Most were full of the excitement of the newly gained independence and empowerment derived from the availability of jobs and other opportunities that had previously been enjoyed by the minority white colonialists.
The most common way of enjoyment for most people is unrestrained sex and beer. The Manyikas of Manicaland have coined a statement that says “Beer is enjoyable in the company of a beautiful lady “.
Everyone will agree with me that sex is a very powerful force and God created it with such wisdom and cleverness that made Him take a very long rest from creating people after Adam and Eve. God put a lot of sugar in sex that most people find it very difficult to control their sexual urge when tempted correctly.
In my lay man’s shallow reasoning skills I believe that sex alone has caused more deaths and much misery and crime than all the other causes that have been identified by experts. I also think that every family in this big wide world has lost a very close relative or relatives to AIDS between the years 1985 to 2010s.
AIDS has dealt a very big blow to our country’s human resource base of especially professionals, artists and other well to do people .
The reason why the most affluent were affected more is that they had and still have more exposure and access to sex than the poor. I have always maintained that HIV/AIDs affected those in cities, towns and growth points more before coming down to the rural poor and gullible.
The proliferation of hotels, night clubs, lodges and other drinking places in towns created a conducive environment for cheap and very irresponsible sexual behavior.
The easy availability of money coupled with advent of a very conducive sexual environment led to the emergence of a new group of people I shall call pleasure managers. The advent of the internet and pornography also whetted further the already sexually toxic environment.
Pleasure managers were and are still there and can be identified quite easily by the way they behave wherever they are.
These gentlemen love their beer and women very much and are well known in their neighborhoods to the extent that they’re allowed to buy beer without paying a deposit for the empty bottles. Before the advent of the cell phone these pleasure managers had special places reserved for them in the beer drinking joints and some would even use the drinking joint’s phone number as theirs.
Pleasure manager brag a lot and behave like they own the cities or towns or growth points they live in .Most of these pleasure managers don’t even own houses they are mostly lodgers or if they have a house it’s a company one.
Pleasure managers have permanent girlfriends and they are so possessive and do not want anybody near their prostitutes. They spend most of their money on beer, clothes and prostitutes. Pleasure managers are also always very well dressed and they talk big as if they own the whole town or growth point.
Those of us who are fifty and above years and have moved to other places my advice is never go or dare ask about pleasure managers from places you left say ten to twenty years ago because you’ll be shocked to hear that the majority if not all are all dead from AIDS and I know also that you Will be congratulating yourself for being so lucky to be alive as you’re also HIV+ but God has been so kind to you to take you this far my dear reader.
In this article my main focus is on how expensively a lot of people got infected with HIV. I also want to highlight the extent to which people can go in the belief that they’re enjoying themselves as they engage in any urestrained sex and beer drinking sprees.
I also want to express how tempting sex can be and how a lot of us cannot overpower the sexual urge when we are really tempted to breaking point. Many of the early AIDS victims spent lots of money to get infected and this is very sad indeed because most AIDS victims died and still die miserably poor. A lot more AIDS victims actually danced themselves to their graves in beerhalls, night clubs and other such drinking places.
I have been one of these pleasure managers and I am talking about what I know and those like me agree fully with me.
My word of advice to pleasure managers of today is never be one who worships sex. Sex is one of the most done things but the least talked about. Sex can lead a man who is doing very well to poverty and HIV/AIDS. Everyone should focus more on developing himself or herself than wasting one’s time on sex and beer. Those like me who are already HIV+ and are fully recovered should avoid casual sex and beer binges. I can go on and on giving advice but the end result remains with one receiving the advice.
