The liberation struggle was driven by the message “Iwe neni tine basa!”; “Rekusunungura Zimbabwe”. The MDC came with “Chinja Maitiro !” Both the liberation struggle and democratic change (MDC) messages were action demanding or motivating messages or slogans.
In the previous article “A New Political Message Is The Opposition Party’s Agenda” I tried to locate the political mood and anger in citizens. The common sentiments expressed by citizens at every given situation or conversation is “Zvakaoma”. This message is not action pushing. This is an expression of disappointment of the Mnangagwa regime. The people are experiencing economic hardships.
Mnangagwa might not know the mood in both Zanu PF and opposition… people are prepared to see his end. The corruption, looting and mismanagement of the economy is the daily conversations among the ordinary persons. That’s why people express it “zvakaoma”. Whenever a corrupt deal is exposed people’s common sentiments is “zvakaoma”.
The overstay of Mugabe was expressed by “kusvika riniko” or ” woda kufirapo here”. This is the reason the 2000 Constitutional Commission referendum was opposed by the electorate… people thought it was about disapproval of Mugabe’s continuation in power. The action message “Chinja Maitiro” was well received as people wanted a change of leadership.
Mnangagwa’s economic failure is written on every Zimbabwean ‘s face. Mnangagwa’s looting is debate in every sector including the State House. Mnangagwa is expressed as “Zvakaoma”.
The “Zvakaoma” message was taken by Gezi and he became a hero in a very successful 31 March stay away. This showed people are prepared “Zvakaoma so zvakwana!” The people are prepared “Zvakaoma..We can do it!” People are prepared to face the regime “Zvakaoma ! Get involved!” The citizens are waiting for the opposition to front “Zvakaoma! Take charge!” These are the messages the citizens have communicated to the opposition leaders because “Zvakwana ! Enough is enough! “
The message for this generation is for action. If a cat is put in a tight corner it will take charge, it will believe it can do it. It will get involved. It will know its freedom depends on its actions. It must declare its freedom. It must fight for its rights and survival.
The citizens are ready for freedom. The driving message must put them into action. The signal is coming from an action message. The next elections must be driven by an action demanding message.
The biggest appetizer for the action message will be Mnangagwa moving a Parliamentary motion for term extension. This should be the direct mover of the “Zvakwana!! We can do it” or “Zvakwana! Get involved ” or “Zvakaoma !! Enough is Enough!!” or “Zvakwana ! Selikwanile ! Enough is Enough ” The line will have been drawn. The end of Mnangagwa will be written on the wall.
