He said standards are to be improved to meet a family environment, to ensure safety of the family when they visit the club.
“There is need to improve on the outlook appeal of the Sports Club in order to meet the standards of our clients, the beauty of the place has to satisfy customers therefore meeting the demands of everyone through offering quality products.
“We don’t have to lose focus on our standards, but be able to create a home environment to all those who want to pursue sports as we are in a mission to host regional and international sports of all disciplines that are offered at Masvingo sports Club,” said the newly appointed manager.
Currently the Sports Club houses the cricket section, tennis section, golf section, bowling section and it used to have squash section, which might open doors as soon as the they identify a qualified trainer.

But with a positive economic outlook Tavakonza believes it’s now time to rekindle the membership drive.
“Massive recruitment driving techniques are needed to increase numbers through refurbishment of the premise and sports grounds.
“We have downsized our workforce and we now have a deliberate policy that will see workers receiving their salaries from their respective departments in order to improve the workers’ working and living conditions.
“The club is for the people and Masvingo City Council has done a lot in promoting the smooth running of the club and l would like to thank them for that,” said Tavakonza
