Last year my cousin brother Jerry Musara passed on in Rusape, and was buried at Masvingise village, Gutu South.

During the funeral night vigil, that was the time l befriended Taka Manyeruke. He came a little bit drunk and was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, although it was July, the “Don” didn’t give much attention to the harsh weather.
His greeting to us was ” Makadiiko nemakomba epfumvudza awa?” That was when l realized that here comes trouble. During this time of the year many farmers will be resting and preparing their harvests for sale. Look at his sense of humour.
He dominated the night by dissing and sharing old stories with mourners. But by 3am, l noticed him very close to the fire because ” chando hachina shasha ichi”( cold conditions do not respect the elders).
Manyeruke passed on last Friday (14/06/25) at Masvingise Township, in Makura’s shop. He was celebrating a friend who had won a game of snooker. He had climbed on top of the snooker and tried to jump and hug the winner. But he misjudged the distance, and he fell on his back and died on the spot. Rest in Peace
