Masvingo Police has confirmed the arrest of Wellington Moyo (22) for attempted murder in Mashava.
ZRP Masvingo province deputy spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, confirmed the matter, saying, on November 10, Kumbirai Chirodzero (52) was attacked with an axe at his Mashava home.
Chirodzero sustained a deep head wound and was treated at Masvingo Provincial Hospital.
Assistant inspector Patinyu, said Wellington Moyo was arrested on November 12 after detectives received a tip-off from the public.
He praised the public’s cooperation,
“We applaud members of the public for working hand in hand with the police in supplying information which has led to the arrest of criminals,” said Patinyu.
