MASVINGO RURAL-An accident that happened near Stop Over at 4am on Sunday (7/9/25) claimed a man (29) who was the driver and a lady (21).
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that Joseph Chikwanda was driving from Masvingo City when he lost control of his vehicle at the 6km peg along Great Zimbabwe Road and veered off the road.
The vehicle overturned several times and landed on its roof, Chikwanda and another passenger Carren Cahapsuka died while the third person in the car is admitted at Masvingo Provincial Hospital in serious condition.
The deceased are all from Village 27 in Manyama under Chief Charumbira.
